Emily in the Moroccan Room

For years I've wanted to go to Morocco. Since (years ago anyway) that seemed unbelievably far away, I started collecting Moroccan stuff and eventually made Moroccan bedrooms for myself in a few different apartments. (Click the images to see more)When we moved into our house here after getting back from London, I thought: Moroccan dining room. Maybe a week later I realized I was pregnant, and after that news sank in, it was pretty clear we were going to want to make that dining room into the nursery eventually. I have zero, zilch, possibly negative desire to make a pastel-colored baby's room, so it all came together: MOROCCAN NURSERY. Yes!! What better way to get the baby in the mood for exploring the world?? In any case, before we started rearranging and setting up baby furniture, Emily and I took advantage of the super-moody dining room to do a photo shoot. Here are all my favorite shots of her (coming soon, her shots of me!). We shot all of this either in natural light, or with one on-camera flash pointed at a giant reflector (white or gold). And by the way, I did eventually go to Morocco, twice!
