A print of Nidhi’s

I just found this pink frame hiding under a pile of stuff in my studio, and thought this print of Nidhi’s illustration might work in there–and it does. Love it. Too bad I will now leave for London and not see it for three months. But still! To the left is a vintage-style baseball, sitting in a wooden hand, with a tiny hat on it. Kudos to Gabe for hat placement.

I’m a stock photo

…so if you need a shot of a pink-haired girl screaming while backlit, or an unbelievably close-up shot of my eye, you know where to go! These were shot by my good friend Joseph Linaschke a few weeks ago at his home studio in Pasadena. I now sort of want to pretend I’m a model. Who knows where I will end up!

Studio shots…of me

Joseph Linaschke, my good friend and old neighbor, is a killer photographer. Ever since I’ve been remotely into photography, I’ve been dying to spend some time working with him, but he up and moved to LA. Once we got the seamless white backdrop lit, which took most of the afternoon (who knew that was so complicated?), we completely abandoned it and decided to have some fun with Joseph shooting me standing in front of a giant softbox. What I’m wearing today

Two things got me going here: I think I’ve been looking entirely too wholesome lately My hair is almost exactly the color of this jacket, and opportunity that can’t be missed Et, voila: Dark ble jeans Yellow snakeskin wedges, a staple T-shirt from Japan, as in, from a tourist stand outside of the enormous Buddha statue in Kamakura Pink courduroy jacket Orange earrings I made Necklace that I *think* is from Sri Lanka Two rings from Tokyo, one that appears to be made of wire and solder, and another from Hellcatpunks, which has a surprisingly fun website

What I’m wearing today

Today feels good. Much better than other days this week. I’m thinking I can attribute that to the jacket. In the immortal words of my friend Jesper, “…so when do the other astronauts arrive?” This spacesuit includes: Skirt I made from drapery fabric from Calico Corners Shoes given to me by Katie when she realized they were no longer cool (they’re Nike Air heels! There are air cushions in the soles! It’s like they’re FROM THE FUTURE) “Meh” t-shirt, a birthday gift from Vivi Awesome shiny leather jacket I got at, believe it or not, THE GAP for like $30[…]
