My laptop was stolen

…from my office, no less. This is obviously a major bummer. (Or as Lefteris would say, a major “bomber”.) Luckily I had just done a huge backup of my photos, so while this is an enormous hassle, it could be so much worse. I have of course lost some of my recent source files, but nothing major. Overall, this made me feel kind of like I’d just dropped my ice cream cone. The main problem is that for the immediate future, while I’m waiting for a replacement, I have no way to process photos. I’d just processed a ton of[…]

Things Lefteris says

We have a constant stream of adorable phrases in our house – partly because English isn’t Lefteris’s first language, partly because translating Greek phrases directly into English is inherently funny, and partly because plenty of Greek customs seem slightly hilarious to me (and since we’re planning our wedding, I’m hearing about a lot of them). Today’s best one: “Oh! Another thing I didn’t tell you. My aunt is gonna cut a pie on your head for good luck.” Share this…TwitterLinkedinPinterestemailGoogle+

We’re MARRIED!!

On Wednesday, the 17th, Lefteris and I got married! We will have a big wedding in Greece next summer, so this was just the legal stuff…but the legal stuff is important! We are both so happy. And now we’re even more excited about the whole wedding celebration. Since we’ve been thinking about this as “Paperwork Day,” I decided to totally run with that and make all of the flowers out of paper. I am such a nerd

…that for my birthday last weekend, we went to Geneva solely for the purpose of taking a tour of CERN. I’m very excited to process these photos, but just haven’t had the time yet – so here’s a preview of my full nerdiness! Speaking of nerdiness, and CERN, this is one of my favorite videos of all time. I would like to hang out with these people. So much more to come from Geneva and CERN! Share this…TwitterLinkedinPinterestemailGoogle+

A toenail seascape

Just before I left for California, London’s “summer” was starting to get me down. By “summer” I mean enless overcast, rainy days. For all of June and July. We had about 2.5 decent days out of those 60ish available days. It got the better of me, and for whatever reason (I wish I could determine what it was), I thought I ought to express myself through the miracle of nail polish. Behold my art. Even closer… Share this…TwitterLinkedinPinterestemailGoogle+

So, I’m in San Francisco…

…and I don’t have any photos to show for it yet. Surely that will change in the next day or so, but I just thought I’d say…it is SO good to be here. It feels like coming up for air after a long time underwater. While I get some current photos ready, I’m going to continue posting other recent stuff. I was doing a bit of painting again just before I came out here…and I have several more shots from New Orleans that haven’t yet seen the light of day. I hope you enjoy!
