Capture the Color contest

We are *just* about to leave for Greece for our Big Fat Greek Wedding, but I saw this contest on another blog and I just had to enter. It's called Capture the Color and it works like this: you put together five photos (with captions) from around the world, one from each color, and you nominate five other bloggers at the bottom of your post. So here goes!BlueWhile living in London, I took a spontaneous weekend trip alone to Zadar, Croatia. For two days all I did was wander the old town, eat ice cream, and take photos. On my last day I wandered into a beach park with a very high platform for diving. Something about stepping off that platform and free falling to the water below seemed like a wonderful metaphor for adolescence.GreenI was on my way to Tibet, and stopped for gas somewhere in Sichuan province, China. This young man was playing pool at a table set up outside the gas station. Although there are several colors represented here, the green of the pool table felt seems to marry the blue sky and the man's yellow jacket.YellowThis was taken one night in London, at a makeshift club that had been set up beneath London Bridge in the vaults there. A month or two later these vaults were filled in with cement.WhiteLa Recoletta is a beautiful cemetary in Buenos Aires, where many famous people lie in family tombs. There are white and light-colored stones all around...but in this case, life was growing within the tomb, fighting for a place near the window, seemingly wanting to push its way out.RedIn Morocco it's easy to find yourself in a rug merchant's shop. The combination of patterns is intoxicating - tile, rug, woodwork, it never ends! But in this case the splashes of red are what I remember about this afternoon.
