Leslie & Peter's Hitchup Hoedown

My very, very good friends Leslie and Peter, both Americans but whom I know from London, got married, and I had the absolute pleasure of being their wedding photographer. Their wedding was at Peter's parents' house outside of Ann Arbor, Michigan, and I managed to stop there while I was moving from San Francisco to London. This being October (or it was back then, anyway), they did it harvest-style and called it the "Hitchup Hoedown". Here are a few photos, and you can take a look at the whole album too!The wedding was in the back yard (which was gorgeous)Beautiful flowers...Food from a chuckwagon...I loved the tables. What a gorgeous palette!Leslie got dressed upstairs. The doors onto the balcony had a view of the leaves right outside, creating a lovely soft light.Gold shoes...Leslie looked amazing. Everyone looked great, acutally! After the ceremony, they were so excited! We did the official couple shots after the ceremony. It was "Dexter Apple Daze" (yay for small town America!) so we drove into town and took advantage of the props!I sweet-talked a guy with a fancy car and he let us shoot with it......and then I sweet-talked the guy who was in charge of the hayrides.Leslie's main description of how she wanted her wedding day to be was "relaxed enough that I can eat corn on the cob." There was a corn field and pumpkin patch between the house and town, so OF COURSE we did these...We couldn't leave without an American Gothic moment.Back at the house, we were getting family shots when I noticed Peter's killer socks! The cakes were simple and adorable...and there were several!Around this time, the chuckwagon cowboys started to "unwind", and the square dancing got started! Then there were fireworks! We took some shots with Peter's famous lunch box....and then things got crazy.
